John Conway
John Conway grew up in Grosse Pointe Shores and currently lives in Troy. During the summers while attending Western Michigan University, John was a file clerk for Gromek, Bendure and Thomas in Detroit, and Jaffe Raitt Heuer and Weiss, formerly in Detroit. While attending law school, John worked as a law clerk for Jacobs & Miller, formerly in Southfield, Cottichio, Zotter and Sullivan, formerly in Detroit, and Charfoos & Christensen, P.C.
After passing the bar exam in 1987, he joined OAS and became a partner in 1994. His primary focus is on the representation of self-insured corporations in all matters including personal injury defense, workers compensation claims, commercial litigation, and consulting. He practices in both Michigan and in Ohio, and has extensive trial experience.
John’s clients have all eventually involved him in the claims stage of a case to avoid duplication of effort, keep costs down, and often to avoid the litigation phase altogether.
John also provides corporate counseling, giving advice to corporations regarding various business operations. Recently, he has provided consulting services to his clients on SCHIP compliance (MMSEA Section 111).
John is married and has two daughters. He is the Chairman of the House Committee at Forest Lake Country Club where he has been a member for 11 years. His older daughter graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School, and his family attends St. Hugo of the Hills Parish. He enjoys golfing and boating.
